Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade heading to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, LG G4 and many more

When a new software or update has been announced, especially if it concerns the user's device or smartphone, many will try to gather as much info about it in terms of compatibility. As for the latest Android operating system upgrade, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, there have been numerous reports before about manufacturer's announcements. If the user has to go through all of pages, it could indeed be very taxing.

Luckily though, GSM Arena has posted the list of confirmed handsets that will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade which includes smartphones and other devices from Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC and many others from different manufacturers.

Here are the smartphones that have been confirmed by their respective manufacturer, according to GSM Arena's list:

Samsung

Devices released from the year 2015, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge , Note 5, S6 Edge, S6. As for the previous year, 2014, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, S5, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7.

Sony

The latest devices from the year 2015 are getting the upgrade and they are: Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Sony Xperia Z3 (or also referred to as Sony Xperia Z4 in some parts of the world), C5 Ultra, C4, M5, M4 Aqua.

Some phones from last year, 2014 and two years back, 2013, have also made into the list and these are: Sony Xpera Z3, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact, Sony Xpera Z2, Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet and lastly, from 2013, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPE.

LG

LG G4 and the LG G Flex2 from the year 2015 are confirmed to receive the Marshmallow upgrade as well as the LG G3 from 2014.

HTC

HTC's 2015 devices, specifically HTC One M9 Plus, One E9 Plus, One M9 and One M9 are also included as well as the 2014 handsets HTC One M8 and E8.

Motorola

Motorola's latest handsets, Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style (3rd Gen), Moto X Play, Moto G (3rd Gen) were also mentioned on the post. As for the 2014 phones, Moto X Pure Edition (2nd Gen), Motorola DROID Turbo, Moto MAXX and Moto Turbo were also included.

Xiaomi

The Chinese handset manufacturer has also announced the phones that are set to receive the Marshmallow upgrade. They are the Mi Note 2, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, and Mi 4i, these are from the year 2015. As for the 2014 handsets, the Mi 4, Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are also going to be compatible with the upgrade.

Huawei

Huawei Ascend P8, P8max, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 7i, Honor 7, Mate S and MediaPad X2 are also going to receive the upgrade. The 2014 devices like Huawei Mate 7, Honor 6, Honor 4X, Honor 4C and Ascend G7 are also mentioned.

Asus

Asus' Zenfone 2 series, Zenfone 2 Laser, Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone Selfie and Go are also set to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade.

Lastly, OnePlus' OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 have also made into the list as well as ZUK's ZUK Z1.
