Motorola Droid Turbo 2 owners can now get their hands on the Android Marshmallow update.

The new update being rolled out by Verizon is set to bring a significant amount of additional features to the smartphone.

First off, users will now have access to the Now on Tap feature. With Now on Tap, users can press and hold down the home button and then receive search results retrieved from Google. The search results that users will get will be based on what they are doing with their phones at that very moment.

Device owners will also be getting access to new power-saving features.

The new App Standby feature saves power by targeting certain apps that are rarely used. Smartphone owners will also be able to pick and choose the specific apps that the App Standby will apply to.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 owners will also be receiving a new feature known as Doze mode via the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. With this feature, certain background processes will be shut down whenever the device itself is not being used. The addition of this feature may help prolong battery life.

The new Do Not Disturb feature is also being added via the Android Marshmallow update. With this feature, Droid Turbo 2 owners can now choose between three different options when it comes to what notifications might be allowed to go through. This can allow Droid Turbo 2 owners to ensure that they are not suddenly interrupted by disruptive notifications during meetings or other important events.

The Marshmallow update also allows device owners to utilize their SD cards not just for storing media files, but also for keeping apps, and even downloaded games.

Prior to downloading the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, Verizon encourages Droid Turbo 2 owners to first make sure that their batteries are fully charged and that they have a reliable Internet connection obtained either through Wi-Fi or a mobile network.
