Android 6.0 news: T-Mobile rolls out update for Samsung Galaxy Note 5

(Android)

Android 6.0 is slowly rolling out and its latest recipients are the Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5. Users of these models would be pleased to hear this and prepare their phones for the update.

According to Sam Mobile, the update is 1421.63 MB in size and was initiated by T-Mobile to distribute the update for the Note 5. On the other hand, the update for the Note 4 hasn't reached the United States as reported by Gotta Be Mobile. Currently, only the countries of India, Poland and Uzbekistan have received the update for the Note 4. Hopefully, within the coming weeks more users of Note 4, as well as users of Note 5, would be receiving the update

For those who are unfamiliar, Android 6.0 introduces new features and functionalities. One of these is the Now On Tap feature wherein users are able to access information quickly with a single tap. For example, if a user asks a friend for a good place to eat, the user can just tap the home button and it will display instantly a list of restaurants in the area. This is a pretty nifty feature for users who are always on-the-go.

Another improvement that comes with the update is the battery life. The developers have taken note that applications take up a lot of energy which drains the battery pretty quickly. To solve this, Android 6.0 introduces the Doze mode and App standby. Doze mode lets the user put the phone into a sleep state where it conserves the battery for a longer period. The App standby on the other hand, limits the usage of apps that are not currently active when the user has opened multiple applications at once.

Android 6.0 also introduces the fingerprint scanner to increase security and ensure that the phone can only be accessed by the user.

These are some of the game-changing features that come with the update. This makes a more compelling reason to update to Android 6.0 or use an Android powered phone in general.
