Android users have been waiting for the release of the newest operating system (OS) update, the Nougat 7.0, to non-Google phones. Recently, the newest OS update debuted on the latest Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, and rumor has it that HTC phones will be getting the update earlier than the others.

According to reports, HTC smartphones will be getting the Android Nougat 7.0 much sooner than the other smartphone brands. It may roll out on models like HTC One, M10, One A9, One M9, and HTC 10.

Although nothing has been set in stone yet, the reason behind the speculations that the Taiwanese phone brand will be getting the update is because Google had previously worked with HTC for its Nexus devices.

There is no official date for the Nougat release to the HTC phones yet. However, there are rumors that it could roll out before the New Year. It is also possible that the rollout will be delayed because there are still tweaks to be done in the network compatibility and in the phone's system.

Although the Android Nougat 7.0 is expected to come out on HTC devices, there are reports saying that other major phone manufacturers are getting the update sooner than initially expected.

As early as November, Samsung's flagships — Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, Galaxy S6, and S6 Edge — are expected to receive the OS update. Apart from the Korean phone brand, Sony is expected to roll out the Nougat to its leading smartphones around the same time as well. It could include the Sony Xperia Z3 , Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, Sony Xperia Z5, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Sony Xperia X, Sony Xperia XA, and Sony Xperia XA Ultra.

OnePlus may also get the same update during OnePlus 3's start of sale.

However, these speculated dates have not been confirmed just yet.
