Apple is currently working on iOS 8.3, with a beta program being available for the public, and some of the new features in the upcoming software update are now beginning to leak out. Media reports suggest that new settings in Apple's upcoming iOS 8.3 software will allow users to finally download free content from the App Store or iTunes without the need to enter a password.

Currently, users are required to enter their Apple ID password to confirm the free download of apps from the App Store. According to the latest reports, the iOS 8.3 will no longer require users to type in their password or use the Touch ID input while downloading free apps, a feature that will be handy for users who like to download lots of games. However, the feature is meant only for free applications and all paid apps, including music from the iTunes store, will require the user's fingerprint or iTunes password.

Screenshots taken by a user and posted online show some new configuration options in the Settings app for entering the password in iTunes and App Store labeled as "Password Settings." The settings page allows users to configure how frequently Apple should ask for a password. The options include "Always require" and "Require after 15 minutes" for paid and in-app purchases, whereas there is a toggle ON/OFF option for requiring password in the case of free apps. Users can simply toggle this option to OFF for disabling iOS from asking for a password for downloading free apps.

Apart from the new password setting, iOS 8.3 also brings other interesting features, such as support for placing calls via Siri on speakerphone, support for additional languages for Siri, a new Emoji keyboard, wireless CarPlay, and filtered iMessages and texts in the Messages app. Apple is yet to reveal the release date for its iOS 8.3 update, though rumors suggest that the company will make an announcement at the upcoming WWDC 2105.
