There have been rumors that Apple Inc. is working on a new 12-inch iPad, dubbed Apple iPad Pro and also referred to as iPad Plus, which will compete with the Microsoft Surface 12-inch tablet, as well as various Samsung 12-inch tablets currently available in the market. Measuring 305.31 mm x 220.8 mm x 7 mm, the iPad Pro will apparently feature a killer 12.9-inch display, making it Apple's largest tablet yet, and will be powered by the Apple A8X/A9 chip with 2 GB of RAM. Other rumors claim that the iPad pro will be powered by an A9 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 11,000 mAh battery, along with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage options. The iPad Pro is also expected to feature Apple's famous Touch ID Fingerprint scanner and a killer stylus, while housing four speakers.

Photos of Apple's leaked case posted on a French tech blog shows the tablet measuring 306 x 223 x 7.2 millimeters (or 12 x 8.7 x 0.2 inches), which confirms rumors that the iPad Pro will have a screen size of over 12 inches. The case holding the iPad Air 2 inside has been photographed from different angles and shows a huge amount of space left over to accommodate the iPad Pro's massive 12.9-inch screen size, making it the largest tablet in Apple's iPad lineup. The leaked case images also confirm the speculation that the iPad Pro will feature a true stereo sound set-up, with openings for four speakers, one near each corner, seen in the leaked case photos.

The iPad Pro is rumored to cost "somewhere between the iPad Air and MacBook Air" and has been currently pegged for launch at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
