iPad Pro 2016 release could douse speculations of an iPad Air 3 but users are keeping their fingers crossed

(Apple)The recently released iPad Pro with its 12 and 9-inch variants that came out last March 31.

Since the release of the smaller variant of the iPad Pro almost four months ago, speculations have been circling around that an Apple iPad Air 3 is currently in the works. However, there were also reports suggesting that the recently released iPad Pro's polished specifications and upgraded performance, not to mention that the new iPad has a removable keypad, could signify the discontinuation of the Air variant.

The California-based tech vendor already jumped on the hybrid bandwagon together with fellow technology giants Microsoft with its commercially successful Microsoft Surface Pro tablets, and Google's Pixel C. With this move, Apple aims to best it out against the two formers in the hybrid market.

Moreover, the 9.7-inch version of the iPad Pro comes with an A9X chipset and a motion processor M9 which is also dubbed as Oscar. Its has a decent 2 GB of random access memory (RAM) and boasts a 2048 x 1536 resolution. In addition, the smaller iPad Pro has the so-called true tone display attribute that automatically adjusts the color of the image depending on the current conditions that it's in. At the time of its release, the latest hybrid tablet from Apple has a price tag of $600 for its entry-level version. With these attributes of the 9-inch iPad Pro, it could definitely pass as a notebook which is best suited for people who want to get the job done while on the go.

Meanwhile, as earlier reported, the rumored iPad Air 3 is yet to be announced by Apple. Rumor has it that the said tablet will be a better performer as compared to previous Air versions. It is said that it could contain the same A9 processor just like the one that's now lodged into the iPad Pro. The Air variant is said to don the new iOS 10 together with the smart personal assistant SIRI.

As aforementioned, Apple has yet to confirm these rumors and avid Apple users will just have to check on their website for further updates.
