'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag' news: Free download in July, exclusive for Xbox Gold members

Microsoft is giving away two free games for the Xbox One console and another two for the Xbox 360 platform. According to the blog, Major Nelson, Microsoft's gold program is now on its second year and as a big thank you to all the fans who supported the program, the company is giving away four games for free starting this month of July.

The games that will be offered for free are only going to be available at a limited time. However, "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" is an exception to that.

As mentioned on Major Nelson, the games that fans can expect to be free for the Xbox 360 platform are as follows:

Starting on July 1, 2015, the Real-Time Strategy (RTS) title from PopCap Games "Plants VS. Zombies" is going to be free for the gold members of the Xbox 360. It will be available for download starting from July 1 up to July 15. The popular flash game's original price is around $14.99.

After "Plants VS. Zombies," the next game that is going to be free for the Xbox 360 is "Gears of War 3" and will be available for download starting July 16 up to July 31. Original price is at $19.99.

Here are the two free game titles for the Xbox One console:

The popular game "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" is going to be available for the whole month of July. The game was developed by Ubisoft and was first released on October 2013. AC IV's original price is $29.99, however, gold members can get the game at no cost.

On July 15, the game "So Many Me" will also be up for grabs, for the gold members. Its original price is $14.99.

Aside from free games, Microsoft is also giving away discounts to other popular IPs including "Mirror's Edge," "Syndicate" and "Crysis 2" and another blog post by Major Nelson announced that there are more sweet deals available for gold Members.
