'Assassin's Creed Victory' release date: fall release for game that Ubisoft hopes will hit the mark this time

Following mixed reviews with the most recent 'Assassin's Creed Unity', game developer Ubisoft is looking to get back on track with the series with the next installment 'Assassin's Creed Victory'. The game is slated for a release sometime this fall, though as with all games in development, this timeline may change depending on how the game progresses.

While 'Unity' was praised for the game's detailed graphics that featured stunning environmental landscapes and architectural designs, some critics found fault with a lackluster control system that made it difficult to navigate through the game. In addition, a few technical issues made the game difficult to play at times. Still, the game received strong marks in establishing an atmospheric game world in the game's French Revolution setting.

Ubisoft has already apologized for 'Unity's' subpar launch, which was plagued with technical issues, and rewarded users with free access to Unity's first DLC pack "Dead Kings". How the company plans to avoid such incidents with 'Victory' has not yet been revealed, though the development will surely pay more attention to quality assurance and stress checking the game.

Whatever the case, 'Victory' looks to once again bring a strong and atmospheric game world as it is set in Victorian London, as per this report on Kotaku from last year. Rumors have suggested that this will be the only 'Assassin's Creed' game within the near future. Whatever Ubisoft's reasons may be, this is certainly welcome news as this will allow the developers to focus on a launching the game much more smoothly that its predecessor.

With 'Victory', Ubisoft is also surely looking at shoring the gameplay aspects of the game following a rather mediocre system in 'Unity'. So far, the company has not revealed any specific gameplay improvements, but future reveals should shed more light on this critical issue.
