The ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 has a design very similar to that of FonePad, with a polycarbonate frame and a rough finish on the cover. ASUS' new tablet weighs 270 grams and measures 189 x 108 x 9 mm, and comes with a 7-inch IPS display offering a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, with ASUS' own VisualMaster technology and wide viewing angles. The tablet is powered by Intel's new Atom x3 line, either C3200RK or x3 x3 – C3230RK (SoFIA 3G – R), clocked at 1.4 GHz, and paired with 1GB of RAM.

The ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 will be available in 8GB as well as a 16GB version, with the option for expanding storage up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. ASUS' dual-SIM tablet with dual-standby function will feature an integrated module WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth, and run the Android 5.0 Lollipop series OS. ASUS' new tablet will pack a 3950 mAh battery, capable of running for 9 hours video playback, 30.9 hours of web browsing with WiFi active and 29 hours of 3G.

In its new teaser video for the ZenPad 7 posted by ASUS on Youtube, the company has revealed that its tablet for "all-around entertainment" will have a "stunning IPS display" with a 178° wide viewing angle. The tablet will also have a Low-Light Mode feature, which can boost its light sensitivity by up to 400%. The ASUS ZenPad 7 will come in two versions – one with a 5 megapixel rear camera and the other with a 2 megapixel rear camera, though both the variants will sport a 0.3 megapixel front camera for taking selfies and videos. The ASUS ZenPad C 7.0 bearing the model number Z170 is expected to soon hit the shelves at an affordable price.
