'Better Call Saul' season 3: cast rumors, plot theories

In season 2 of "Better Call Saul," fans have already seen familiar faces from "Breaking Bad" make some cameo and major appearances. As if this was not enough to get fans excited, some of the actors are even reportedly interested in presenting younger versions of their characters. While that might still be subject to consideration, there are already rumors and speculations which characters will appear in season 3.

"Better Call Saul" showrunner Vince Gilligan has revealed in an interview on Entertainment Weekly that they almost used Marie Schrader (Betsy Brandt) in the season 2 finale where she was supposed to facilitate Chuck's CAT scan since she's a radiology technician. However, they decided against it in the end, saying that she might become a distraction from the moment. On the other hand, the actress is more than willing to make a cameo appearance on the show. With that in mind, fans might see her on season 3.

Another character that might make an appearance in season 3 is Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). As fans know, Pinkman was the one who introduced Walter White to Saul Goodman in "Breaking Bad." As of the moment, Paul appears on Hulu's "The Path."

Aside from the two characters, there are also speculations that "Breaking Bad's" biggest villain, Gustavo "Gus" Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), will also make an appearance in season 3. In fact, all of season 2 serve as a hint as fans discovered that when they re-arranged the first letters of the episode titles in season 2, it says "Fring's back."

Gilligan and fellow executive producer Peter Gould said in an interview on Vanity Fair that it was really intended to be that way.

With this revelation, it is possible that Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and Gus will meet face-to-face soon as it can be remembered that Mike worked as head of security in Los Pollos Hermanos and as Fring's second-in-command in "Breaking Bad."
