"Bloodline" fans now have a date to mark down on their calendars.

The second season of the drama series is now officially set to make its debut on Friday, May 27, and that premiere date could prove to be advantageous for a lot of fans.

As Carter Matt pointed out, that specific premiere date means that it will fall on Memorial Day weekend, and on top of that, the web site also notes that there may not be a whole lot of other programs for the show to contend with when it makes its debut, thus making it a potentially enticing option for a lot of viewers with nothing else to watch.

For season 2, the show is expected to focus more on the internal drama that is brewing within the Rayburn family.

On top of that, the second season is also expected to feature some new characters who have some kind of connection to the oldest Rayburn brother, Danny, as portrayed by Ben Mendelsohn.

One of those new characters is going to be Ozzy Delvecchio and he will be played by John Leguizamo.

Delvecchio's role in the second season is unclear at this point, and it's that air of mystery that surrounds him that may be what fans find most compelling. Delvecchio may also grow to become a thorn in the side of the Rayburn family as the second season of "Bloodline" progresses, according to TV Line, so that's another plotline for fans to follow closely.

Andrea Riseborough will also be joining the cast as she takes on the role of Evangeline. Similar to Delvecchio, Evangeline has ties to Danny and her motivations for suddenly showing up are also unclear at this point.

The second season of "Bloodline" will be a bit shorter, as it is set to feature 10 episodes as opposed to the 13 that were included in the first season.
