Double Fine has announced in a forum post that Broken Age Act 2 is arriving with an early 2015 release date.

"The team has been steadily growing in size over the past month and progress is being made really rapidly now. The key milestone being that just last week we hit Alpha on both Shay and Vella's halves of Act 2, leaving just the big finale section until we can say the entirety of Act 2 is at Alpha!" according to the post by Greg Rice of Double Fine Productions.

Together with animators SuperGenius, the studio is very happy about the development and how rapidly they are moving to the Beta stage, because of the impressive progress of the playtest. Everything is currently on schedule.

"The goal now is to get all the finale work done so we can hit Alpha on all of Act 2 by the end of the year. That means, as you may have guessed based on recent updates and documentary episodes, the Act 2 ship that will deliver the complete adventure is now looking like it will be early next year," Rice added.

Broken Age Act 2 can be completed by an average player in 8 to 12 hours, with puzzles and gameplay providing varied level of challenge and a fluid storyline. This is substantially longer compared to the first Broken Age Act, which was launched in January this year.

Double Fine founder Tim Schafer confirmed in October that he had finished writing the game, and that voice acting and other work can take off.

Broken Age Act was the second Kickstarter project to raise more than $1 million when it was offered to backers and funders in February, 2012. The game amassed a total of $3.3 million funding.
