'Clash of Clans' update: More Dark Barracks units and Level 8 Barbarians expected in the October update, rumoured for unveiling at ClashCon

"Clash of Clans" is undeniably one of the most popular mobile games these days. It is so popular, in fact, that a tournament dedicated to it will be held this weekend. And in preparation, developer Supercell has announced a major update to be unveiled at the event itself.

Rumours of a new update coming up for "Clash of Clans" had been in the air for quite some time now. Just recently, it was reported that Supercell is planning a Halloween-themed update for MMO strategy mobile game. Today, more speculations come in, courtesy of Android Origin. The site echoes what has already been reported about a level 11 Town Hall but also adds immensely to that.

The October update, reported coming during the ClashCon event this Oct. 24, will allow for some Hero upgrade. If proven true, this means that Barbarians may now reach as much as Level 8.

In September, fans of the Android and iOS game have already been treated to a massive update with stronger lightning spells once a player reaches levels 5 and 6. Town Halls have also been brought up to levels 8, 9, and 10, with the latter also bringing with it a level 7 Lightning spell. That means rumours about a next-level Town Hall is not too far-stretched.

Those who also upgraded last month will also notice empty spots at the Dark Barracks and it ominously announced, "Coming Soon." This led to more speculations as to what units are yet to come.

While waiting for the update, gamers can look forward to catching news about the ClashCon this weekend. Happening in Helsinki, Finland, gamers will be trying their hands at winning some various competitions and even getting skills upgrade via in-event workshops. The official ClashCon website also teases some freebies to be given away. Full event schedule is printed here.

Stay tuned for further updates.
