Anime fans have been looking forward to the live-action film adaptation of the popular Japanese manga series, "Attack on Titan." Now they — and other Sony PlayStation gamers — have something else to look forward to: a new video game from Koei Tecmo.

"Attack on Titan" is an ongoing dark fantasy manga by Hajime Isayama that debuted in Japan on Mar. 17, 2010. It reached American shores on June 19, 2012. Its latest chapter, Volume 17, has yet to reach the U.S. this Aug. 25 but it already hit stores in Japan earlier this year on April 9. And boy, did it have some exciting news.

The wraparound jacket of the Volume 17 of "Attack of Titan" revealed a new game based on the manga being developed. There were no specific details about the game but Anime News Network reported that the ad did have a QR code which leads readers to a site that contained a teaser trailer for the upcoming game.

The teaser is simple and direct, showing exactly what fans will expect from an "Attack on Titan" title. They see Eren Yeager vowing to make the Titans — giant humanoids — pay for what they have done to humanity. Towards the end, he attacks a Titan and the teaser ends with "Prepare to make humanity's last stand!"

The "Attack of Titan" seems to be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 as the teaser started with a simple "PS 4" before diving into some action. But the teaser also had PS3 and PS Vita at the end credits.

Based on the teaser, the game is dropping in 2016. This is for the Western release, says Kotaku. Japan will get the title ahead of everyone else this winter season.

In the meantime, fans cans keep looking forward to the live action "Attack on Titan" film, part one of which came out last July and part two coming out some time before the year ends (Japan has a screening date of Sept. 19).
