"Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is expected to be one of the most anticipated games that fans are looking forward to since it was announced back in 2015.

Fans may be expecting that the game will be released sometime this year and will be potentially announced at the E3 2016, but it seems to not be the case. Square Enix has released its earnings report early in May and along with it is the list of games scheduled to be out before this year ends. It appears that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" did not make it to the list, suggesting that the game will be available in the third quarter of 2017.

It's speculated that the remake may be a September 2017 release since another "Final Fantasy" game, "Final Fantasy XV," will be released on Sept. 30, 2016. There's also the possibility that the remake will be pushed further to 2018.

According to Christian Today, Square Enix might decide to put a hold on the release date of the remake to pave the way for the release of "Kingdom Hearts III," which is believed to be more of a priority for next year since it was announced first before the remake and fans have been waiting for it for three years.

Whichever the case, fans can only hope that they'll know the release date for "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" at E3 2016. Whether Square Enix will give a release date announcement remains to be seen, but fans are hoping that the developer will provide details and also showcase a trailer.

Meanwhile, it was already confirmed that the game will be released in an episodic manner and each game will have a size comparable to a full game. This means that once the game is available by 2017, fans will only be treated to a part of the remake but more content will follow after.
