It's still a waiting game for fans of the next GoPro camera as there is still no official announcement when it comes to the exact release date of GoPro Hero 5. However, that doesn't stop rumors and speculations from circulating online.

GoPro Hero 5 had been rumored to have an October 2015 release, but nothing happened. Instead, the company announced by the end of 2015 its new device, the Karma Drone, which is set to be released sometime this year.

With Karma's announcement, speculations are rife that the rumored GoPro Hero 5 was put on the sidelines and the company is focusing more on the drone. In addition, the company released a new teaser video about Karma just last month, which made a lot of people wonder about the fate of Hero 5.

There were also rumors that the Hero 5 will be launched alongside Karma. However, Yibada gathered that since Karma is getting more updates, it will be launched first and the Hero 5 will follow later on.

With all these rumors, fans may need to extend their patience a bit for Hero 5. It's quite comforting, though, that at least GoPro bosses have given hope to many of its supporters.

According to Yahoo! Finance, during the Q4 2015 GoPro Inc. Earnings Call on Feb. 3, GoPro Inc. CEO Nicholas Woodman gave hints about Hero 5's release. "Later this year, we will introduce the most connected and convenient GoPro we have ever made, HERO5," Woodman said. That's not much but at least people will know something from GoPro is coming this year.

When it comes to specs, the company has kept mum, but rumors suggest that the GoPro Hero 5 will have an 8K video recording. Some reports also mention that it will be capable of capturing 3D images. Valuewalk also gathered that the Hero 5 may include a 2,800 mAh battery and an A10 processor.

These rumors are interesting, but until GoPro releases the official announcement, everything should be taken with a grain of salt. In the meantime, fans can just check out the video below to see GoPro's upcoming device, Karma.
