GoPro is going to be releasing two gears this year, The Karma Drone and the GoPro Hero 5. The Karma Drone is rumored to be out in either May or June, but the GoPro Hero 5 will probably be out in October.

According to Yahoo! Finance, although there is no specific date yet and the October release window is not yet official, it has been confirmed already by GoPro CEO Nick Woodman that the new action camera will be indeed unveiled this year. He made the announcement during a conference call back in February. The new gadget could have come earlier though after it was speculated last year to come out in early 2016.

According to Value Walk, the plan last year was to release GoPro Hero 5 in early 2016, but reports indicate that the first focus will be the Karma Drone, followed by the GoPro Hero 5 for Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

The upcoming outdoor camera traits may include "portability, connectivity, and a more seamless use." GoPro Hero 5 will be about 50 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter than its earlier version. While it will focus on connectivity, probably through cloud-based storage and an enhanced Bluetooth functionality, it will also be compatible with the Karma Drone in order to increase users' overall experience.

It is also rumored to have an improved 8K video quality, a dual lens camera for better photo output, and the capability to shoot 60 frames per second. There are speculations that it will have superior waterproof features, even if it is 60 meters deep.

Moreover, GoPro Hero 5 will possess a more powerful chipset, and a battery life that will last up to 24 hours with a single charge.

All these information is still not giving a clear sight to the fans and possible users of the gadget. Hopefully, in the coming months, the company may issue an official release date and statement as to assure fans that something is indeed happening.

For more information, stay tuned.
