"Grand Theft Auto VI," or "GTA VI," remains in the rumored category, and fans are already eager to know more details of the next "Grand Theft Auto" game.

Fans of the well-loved game are already confused about the release date of the next installment. There are reports claiming that "GTA VI" will arrive sometime in 2017 or early 2018. Now, the game's release date is reportedly moved to 2019 to make it compatible with virtual reality (VR) support, Yibada gathered.

While this is an interesting idea for a big game like "GTA VI," it should be noted that the release date is still unconfirmed. Fans will just have to hold their breath a little longer for an official announcement from developer Rockstar Games.

The current installment, "GTA V" is a proven success in the gaming world. With that said, developer Rockstar Games is also said to bring major changes to make sure that "GTA VI" is a much more interesting installment than the current one.

One major change rumored to be part of the next installment is the appearance of a female lead. Several reports about actress Eva Mendes voicing the female character are circulating online.

Ryan Gosling is another celebrity rumored to be part of the franchise's next installment. The rumors about these two celebrities being tied to the game continue on, but neither of them has confirmed their involvement. Furthermore, Rockstar has not even announced confirmation of the reports.

The rumor about a female protagonist is not far from being possible. After all, it was Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser who hinted in an interview with The Guardian in 2013 that the idea is possible.

"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about," Houser told the publication.

At this point, nothing is certain about "GTA VI" and Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny all the rumors stated above.
