GTX 980 Ti Release won't be before 2016

Production problems have forced Nvidia to delay the release of the much-awaited graphics card GTX 980 Ti to 2016, much to the dismay of loyal followers.

Previous reports have identified December 2014 as the release date of the new GEForce GTX Titan single-chip flagship graphics card. But because of the reported problems in production, the company had to push back the launch to next year.

Techies may be disappointed with this news because the GTX 980 Ti holds a lot of promises. It's certainly going to be better than the ones before it.

In fact, leaked reports say that the new graphics card will have the following specs: DirectX12.0 and SLI, VXGI, MFAA, GameStream, G-SYNC, GPU Boost 2.0GEForce Experience and PhysX Support.

Fans expect this one to be performance-packed especially since it has the second version of the Maxwell Architecture and 28nm technology. Maxwell adds Voxel Global Illumination (VXGI), which helps significantly improve graphics, making them more lifelike. It will also improve the lighting effects, making them more realistic.

The MFAA tech will have the same effect as the MSAA but doesn't require a lot of performance cost.

Other reports say that the new graphics card will sport 2560 and 2816 CUDA cores on a 384-bit memory bus, a huge improvement from the old GTX graphics cards which only have 256-bit bus.

These, however, are still merely speculations. Nvidia still has to verify if these are really the new specs of the new graphics card.

One other item that needs to be confirmed is news that Nvidia is planning to raise the price for the ultra-high-end GTX Titan graphics card to $1349. It's a significant increase from former models. But that could be justified by the fact that the new GTX 980 Ti is going to be a lot faster than its predecessors.
