'Half-Life 3' release date very soon? might be VR-compatible when released

It's been over a decade now since the second installment of "Half-Life" was released to fans, and ever since then, avid players have been longing to get their hands on "Half-Life 3." There are now rumors circulating across the web that this could be happening very soon and some speculate that the third installment will be virtual reality (VR) compatible.

Having said this, reports suggest that come 2018, fans will be playing "Half-Life 3" using VR headsets. Moreover, it is also said that game developer Valve could be working on some huge changes within the game and this could be one of the reasons why it took the game developer so long to release a follow-up to 2004's "Half-Life 2."

It's a known fact for "Half-Life" players that the title is a first-person shooting game and it would be fitting for Valve to make the necessary tweaks and updates with "Half-Life's" gameplay since it was earlier reported that it will be VR-ready two years from now.

Valve, on the other hand, is tight-lipped, with nothing much to offer to the fans as to what the game's current status is. In addition, some of the original staff that took part in creating this classic are no longer affiliated with Valve, hence making the fate of the game uncertain.

Nonetheless, it is said that there are still folks inside Valve that were given specific tasks in developing the yet-to-be unveiled title. The problem is that the staff that currently works for the title is just a fraction of the total manpower that's needed for the development of the game.

As of the moment, Valve is currently making improvements on their current titles, such as the "Defense of the Ancients" (DotA) and "Counter-Strike," and if the rumors are indeed true about "Half-Life 3," then avid fans will just have to wait a little bit more.
