Huawei Honor 7 release date, specs, rumors: Chinese giants next device features metal chassis and fingerprint scanner

Just after Huawei unveiled the P8 and P8 Max flagships, the company is now rumored to be preparing to release a successor to its popular Honor 6 handset launched last year that had proved to be one of the best value-for-money phones in the market.

This China-based company had launched some interesting devices in 2014, including the Huawei P7, Ascend Mate 7, Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus, which were definitely among Huawei's best devices for the year. The Honor 6 is a powerful handset with 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display and powered by Huawei's Kirin 920 octa-core processor. Huawei now seems to be developing a set of worthy successors to Honor 6 in the form of the Honor 7 and Honor 7 Plus

A bunch of live images have sprung up online detailing the Honor 7 and Honor 7 Plus smartphones, which Huawei is rumored to be developing. As per the live pictures, the Honor 7 is made of metal and sports a larger 5.5-inch FHD display as compared to that of the Honor 6. The device is expected to come with a dual-camera arrangement on the rear side along with an LED Flash. The Honor 7 is likely to be powered by one of Huawei's own Kirin 930 / 935 chips along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and is expected to run Android 5.0 Lollipop with Huawei's own EMUI on top.

Meanwhile, the Honor 7 Plus is also expected to be come with a 5.5 inches Full HD Display and powered by either the Kirin 930 or 935 chipset, along with 3GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage. The rear view shows the Honor 7 Plus with a camera sensor along with dual LED flash. The Honor 7 Plus will reportedly sport a fingerprint sensor under the main camera on the back.
