iOS 8.4 jailbreak release, news, update: New tools could be launched to jailbreak upcoming iOS 8.4

After the hacking group Pangu demonstrated its ability to jailbreak iOS 8.3 at the recently held Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC), the jailbreak community is now waiting for Apple to release iOS 8.4 before trying to attempt to jailbreak it.

Apple's popular OS has always been the target of the jailbreak community and the company has been thwarting jailbreakers by consistently patching vulnerabilities. Apple does not allow users to download certain applications on its iDevices, though jailbreakers access the root of the iOS file system and manager to download Apple restricted apps, themes and extensions that are unavailable at its official app store.

Hacking group Pangu recently demonstrated its ability to jailbreak iOS 8.3, but has said that it will release the untethered iOS 8.3 jailbreak only after Apple releases iOS 8.4. Apple had confirmed an iOS 8.4 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in April, but it is currently available only in beta to a limited number of developers and consumers. Apple is expected to roll out iOS 8.4 by the end of June and jailbreaking teams are waiting for its release with new tools to jailbreak the upcoming version. However, according to experts, the updated iOS 8.4 could prove impossible to jailbreak, as Apple could introduce a number of improvements and features, as well as fixes for vulnerability and security issues in the upcoming version.

Moreover, jailbroken iOS may soon become a thing of the past, as Apple's latest iOS 9 is reported to come with a rootless security feature, which will limit administration rights on iOS system to prevent administrative level users from using select system protected files on the device, thus making it impossible for hackers and jailbreakers to compromise its OS in the future.
