iPad Air 3 rumors: Features could help it overtake the iPad Pro

(Apple)iPad Air 3 could have several elements of the iPad Pro

With a multitude of rumors pointing towards a March 15 event being announced by Apple, many have been pointing towards the iPad Air 3 arriving on that date. What is interesting now is that the device could provide a lot of competition to the iPad Pro and even be quite similar to it.

CNET states that while Apple has not made its event in March official, it is likely that it will take place. This is because several reputed sources that usually have a lot of insight into upcoming devices from the company have been stating that an announcement about it would be arriving soon. It also adds that the iPad Air 3 is going to be one of the most talked about devices in the event because the lineup was not updated last year and instead, Apple opted to bring out the iPad Pro.

Even though the iPad Pro was not a major success like the iPad Air 2, it is expected that popular design elements from it will be transferred to the upcoming iPad Air 3. This includes four speakers and a Smart Connector, which can be used to attach devices like a keyboard to the tablet. There are also indications that Apple will bring stylus support to the iPad Air 3 and so users will be able to use the Apple Pencil stylus on it.

As for the hardware on the iPad Air 3, it is expected that Apple will include the A9X chipset on it. This will ensure that the device is fast and second to the iPad Pro in terms of speed, which also has a similar chipset. Others, meanwhile, point to Apple using a new chip on the iPad Air 3 or possibly the A9, which made its appearance on the iPhone 6s lineup. When it comes to RAM, however, there are no indications as to whether the device will have 2 GB or 3 GB, but some rumors indicate it could be as high as 4 GB.
