iPad Mini 5, iPad Pro 2 release date, specs rumors: Tablets to jointly debut in early 2017

Apple has yet to make any announcements regarding its iPad lineup, but fans continue to eagerly await the release of such tablets like the iPad Pro 2 and the iPad Mini 5. Rumor has it that the two tablets will be unveiled together in early 2017.

It has been said that the iPad Mini 5 could be called the iPad Pro Mini when it officially launches. It is reportedly going to have an A9 chipset, as well as 3 GB of RAM, and will act as the smaller sibling of the iPad Pro 2. There will also be three internal storage options: 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB, effectively doing away with the 16 GB version.

As previously reported, speculated specifications include a home button integrated directly into the screen, which means there would be nothing to physically press on anymore. And following in the footsteps of the recently released iPhone 7, the upcoming iPad Mini 5, or iPad Pro Mini, will apparently not have a 3.5-mm headphone jack.

Additionally, reports reveal that a tablet measuring 10.5 inches will be debuting next year, with production slated to commence in December. It can be recalled that Apple already has three iPad lineups: the 7.9-inch iPad Mini, the standard 9.7-inch iPad, and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

According to reports, the company is seeking a 10.5-inch tablet as sort of a compromise between the standard-sized one and the larger one. This is because education and business sectors in the United States apparently prefer a midsize one, since the 9.7-inch version is considered too small, while the 12.9-inch too big and pricey for them.

The new 10.5-inch tablet is said to be under the iPad Pro 2 lineup, along with a 9.7-inch model and a 12.9-inch version.

However, since nothing has been confirmed so far, readers should take this news with a grain of salt for now.
