Rumors about the huge iPad Pro and the upcoming iPad Air 3 have been arriving thick and fast but they have also brought a lot of surprises. Among the big ones were news that the iPad Air 3's release date would be pushed to next year while the iPad Pro would only be released in a limited fashion.

First off, there has been a lot of buzz about the huge iPad Pro otherwise known as the iPad Plus; and recent rumors indicate that Apple is not confident that the device will be a success. Even though it is rumored to have a huge and impressive 12.9-inch display, the company has decided to cautiously move ahead with it as the market for tablets has shrunk considerably over the years and is in fact, expected to worsen in the short term.

With the demand cooling, suppliers who have been involved in the production of the device in China, have stated that Apple has placed very limited orders for components.

So even though the iPad Pro might finally arrive this year (after several years of speculation about its existence), it looks like Apple will only be releasing a limited number of the device in November after it is officially unveiled.

As for the iPad Air 3, its released looked pretty certain that Apple would release it like it normally does in the fall, until a few days ago. A recent report from China indicated that Foxconn was only concentrating on the iPad Mini 4 and the iPad Pro.

The report also claimed that the company has decided not to launch an updated iPad Air model this year and instead release it next year. However, this rumor has been disputed by the website, MacRumors, which stated that there is indeed an iPad Air 3 coming this year, although it will have very few new features.

It also added that with the Mini lineup expected to be phased out, with the iPad Mini 4 rumored to be the last, the iPad Air 3 could become the smaller version of the tablet lineup of Apple.
