iPad release date 2015: Apple to start making larger iPad september; iPod Touch 6 nowhere near in sight

It should be an interesting year ahead for Apple as they adjust to the ever changing demands from consumers who, now more than ever, have an abundance of choices in the gadget market. Already Apple appears to have shifted its current strategy for the iPad by announcing a delay in the production of the larger versions of their flagship tablet device.

According to a report by Bloomberg, production on the new 12.9 inch iPad is slated to begin sometime in September this year. Though the company initially planned on beginning production in the first quarter this year, the company, for some reason, has decided to change course.

Sales for the iPad have been declining for the past year but Apple CEO Tim Cook is reportedly still keen on reinvigorating the product line. The larger version of the iPad is part of the plan to boost tablet sales though Apple's latest iPhones models, which feature bigger screens, may have inadvertently weakened the appeal of the iPad.

Another product that is still in the pipeline is the latest iteration of the iPod Touch, the sixth generation of the product line. For now, no official word has been given on a release date, though rumors online suggest a potential September release this year. Still, Apple certainly has other concerns in mind based on recent reports so development on the latest version of the iPod Touch may be on backburner for now.

If Apple were to release the iPod Touch 6, it would need to have several upgrades from the iPod Touch 5 to satisfy consumers. Based on this article at iTech Whiz, potential improvements could come in the form of a larger display, better technical specifications, an improved camera, and a longer battery life. As for price, it's a good bet that the iPod Touch 6 will be more expensive than its predecessor. The question is if the added price will be worth the cost.
