iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus release date, specs: new camera features hinted

(Apple)New iPhones expected to arrive this September

The rumor mill favorites known as the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus are expected to include at least a few new features, and a recent leak is providing more details related to these potential changes.

The rumored specs of the upcoming smartphones were revealed in a spec sheet shared on the social networking site Weibo.

Phone Arena has managed to share an image of the spec sheet in question, and according to it, new processors, batteries and even camera modules may be included in the upcoming devices.

First off, the spec sheet hints that the iPhone 7 will come with the A10, which is no surprise, given how rumors throughout the year have consistently hinted that this would be the case.

Moving on now to the batteries, the spec sheet indicates that the iPhone 7 will have a 1960 mAh battery powering it up while the larger iPhone 7 Plus may receive the beefier 2910 mAh battery.

Lastly, the leaked spec sheet also hints that both smartphones may feature 12-megapixel rear cameras, but as Phone Arena noted, the aperture changes listed may be hinting that these cameras will be somewhat different from the ones device owners have been able to use in the past.

If the new smartphones really are coming with new cameras and other potential additions then people are about to find out pretty soon.

Apple has now confirmed that they will be holding an event on Sept. 7, and while the tech giant did not specify exactly what they will be showing off, it's widely expected that the new smartphones will be front and center when that day finally arrives.

Following the expected Sept. 7 reveal, the retail release of the new smartphones will reportedly take place a little more than a week later on Sept. 16, according to a tweet from the highly reliable tipster Evan Blass.

More news about the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus should be made available very soon.
