Technology firm Apple is expected to release its upgraded iPhone 7s models and a new iPhone 8 with a 5.8-inch OLED "wraparound" screen during the iPhone's 10th year anniversary in late 2017. The flagship iPhone 8 redesigned model will feature an OLED display featuring major components like the earpiece, FaceTime camera and Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Apple Insider reports that Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri claimed in a research note to investors that Apple will also release new iPhone 7s phones in 4.7 and 5.5-inch displays, along with the iPhone 8, which he referred as an "iPhone X." Apple's decision to embed the key components in the display will allow the iPhone 8 to achieve a seamless edge-to-edge front panel.

Arcuri also said that Apple could use Synaptec's optical-based fingerprint reader for the phone's Touch ID sensor. The iPhone 8's other expected features include a facial and gesture recognition system powered by a laser sensor, an infrared sensor near the front-facing camera, and wireless charging capability.

In his Facebook post, technology blogger Robert Scoble said that the iPhone 8 will feature both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology. It will also come with a next-generation 3D sensor from Primesense as well as a battery and antennas concealed around the edges of its screen. He claims that Apple has employed 600 engineers in Israel to work on the phone's sensor alone.

Here are some other features and specifications of the iPhone 8: a dual LED flash camera with 4k video recording capability, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, retina eye scanner, and 4 GB RAM. It also has a fast-charging battery, an iOS 10.02 operating system that is upgradable to 11.0, and an A-11 processor.

The iPhone 8 will be offered in 32/64/128 GB expandable internal memory with dual micro SD cards. It is expected to cost $750.
