Jeremy Lin news: Security checks no longer annoying Lin

Jeremy Lin was once again stopped temporarily at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn when security failed to recognize him as a player. It isn't the first time it has happened.

When he first joined the Charlotte Hornets, he ran into the same predicament where security wanted more credentials to prove that he was indeed a basketball player.

For any NBA fan, it would be difficult to think how anyone would fail to recognize Linsanity. But then again, there are exceptions.

Such has no longer been annoying to Lin, eventually singling out his ethnicity of being Asian as part of the process. Whether there was seriousness to that claim or simply a poke at it remains to be seen. But these days, raising such could get out of hand. Hopefully it doesn't.

Back to basketball, Lin is someone hard to spot. He is enjoying a splendid season compared to previous years. Though he is playing more of a backup role with the Hornets, the fact remains that his new role seems suited for him.

Proof of that is the Hornets are playoff-bound with Lin's help. Considering the struggles that the Hornets have had to deal with (a major part of it being caused by injuries), Steve Clifford's charges have somehow found a way to survive compared to other teams which have struggled.

Indeed, the Hornets have made a dramatic turnaround and could even go higher if they continue their run. They are 1 ½ games behind the Atlanta Hawks and are in a good position to even end up third in the Eastern Conference standings.

As far as poor recognition is concerned, Lin has become used to it. He points out that it normally happens when the Hornets play in opposing arenas but has learned to live and deal with it.

Lin will eventually get due recognition in time. Right now, he is proving his worth with the Hornets as he tries to rebuild his stock with his new home.
