The concept for the two-part movie, "Justice League," first came up while "Batman v Superman," the second DC based movie to be released, was in its pre-production stage in 2014. Talks about the big hero movie assembly remained a rumor until a movie release date was announced early this year. Deadline Hollywood notes this happened two days after a concept art was released. The artwork had Aquaman, Cyborg, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Flash in it.

The aforementioned heroes have since been set to star in their individual movies. "Justice League Part 1" will also include Green Lantern who has been hinted at an Aquaman poster captioned "Unite the Seven." Hollywood Reporter gathered that DC comic has seven founding members: Superman, Batman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter whose place was attributed to Cyborg in recent versions.

Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman, have been casted in "Batman v Superman" along lead actors Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, which will mark their debut on the big screen. As for the rest of the Justice League members, Snyder said they will figure in "a very small role," and explains that "it's really just a whisper they exist," in a Hall of Justice podcast. Snyder went on to say the movie is about the heroes who are in the title role but the conversation pertaining to "Justice League" members is in the script.

Other confirmed cast for "Justice League" are as follows: Victor Stone as Cyborg and Ezra Miller as The Flash.

No actor is confirmed to play Green Lantern yet but rumors have named actor Dan Amboyer as the possible cast.
