"Kingdom Hearts" fans have been waiting for the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" for quite some time. Since the initial game announcement back in 2013, there have been very few updates regarding the game.

The game was rumored to be released by May of this year, but Square Enix clarified that the release date still remains to be unconfirmed.

Thankfully, Square Enix announced that they would be making several announcements about the game during the 2015 D23 Expo in Japan this November.

Square Enix will be having a "Kingdom Hearts" Premium Theater Event on Nov. 3. During the event, the game developers will also be releasing the latest footage of "Kingdom Hearts 3." There will be two batches. The first event is scheduled at 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. JPT and the second batch is scheduled at 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. JPT.

The Disney Store will also be selling limited edition "Kingdom Hearts 2" Play Arts Kai Sora Final Form figures for 9,800 yen ($82). There will only be 999 units available for purchase.

With the "Kingdom Hearts 3" event only two weeks away, avid fans of the game franchise are once again getting excited. They are also hoping that during the event, Square Enix could also possibly announce a release date for the much anticipated 'Kingdom Hearts 3."

According to game creator, Tetsuya Nomura, much of the game's delay has been due to the development of the Unreal 4 game engine. "The transition was quite a process. We pretty much had to start from the ground again. We had to make syre that we could recreate our key effects in the Unreal Engine and that the effects we specifically needed for 'Kingdom Hearts' could be adapted," he said.

Hopefully, Nomura and his team at Square Enix have been able to overcome the many challenges in creating the game. Meanwhile, fans remain patient as they wait for the announcement of the game's official release date.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" will be available for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One consoles.
