LeTV Max release date, specs rumors: New phablet with 6.33-inch Quad HD display and 4GB RAM open for pre-order

Chinese entertainment and Internet company LeTV has announced the pricing details for its 6.33-inch phablet, the LeTV Max, which is now available for pre-orders.

Earlier this month, LeTV had introduced the LeTV One, LeTV One Pro, and LeTV Max, the world's first smartphones to arrive with a USB Type-C port. The company had also announced that it would launch the full bill of materials (BOM) for the smartphones to allow customers to see how much they actually cost to manufacture, which it believes, will help them make better informed decisions.

The LeTV Max is a phablet measuring 6.3 inches capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The phablet's border measures 1.6mm, as compared to the border of 3.1mm of the Xiaomi Mi Note, according to the company's COO Liang Jun. The LeTV Max is powered by a 64-bit 2.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The phablet offers 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage variants with microSD card support for memory expansion. The LeTV Max is equipped with a 20.7MP rear camera, with Sony's IMX230 image sensor, and a fingerprint scanner along with LeHi-Fi audio. The phablet runs Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with LeTV's proprietary LeUI on top, and packs a reasonably sized 3,400mAh battery.

The beastly LeTV Max is now available for pre-orders and will go on open sale from June 12 in China. A limited number of units will initially be available for a price equivalent to $580 USD unlocked, and the company will reveal the final pricing at the beginning of next month. LeTV has not provided details about the phablet's release in the international market and it still remains to be seen whether the LeTV Max will be sold globally.
