LG has finally confirmed the rumor regarding the official unveiling date for the next G flagship, the much anticipated LG G5. The South Korean-based manufacturer is now set to reveal the upcoming device on next month's event, Mobile World Congress 2016 or commonly referred to as MWC 2016, according to the report from CNET.

The official unveiling for the LG G5 is set to happen on Feb. 21, 2016, during a Sunday press day right before MWC 2016, which will open its gates on Feb. 22 in Barcelona, Spain, as said on the press invites that were rolled out a few days prior to the confirmation.

Furthermore, because of this revelation, fans are now expecting LG to go head-to-head against the other South Korean-based manufacturer, Samsung, on their rumored unveiling for the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S7, said on Expert Reviews.

However, there's still no guarantee if Samsung will really pull off the veil on their latest Galaxy flagship on the same day, or even during the MWC 2016. So what that in mind, it's best to consider this as a mere speculation for now until proven otherwise.

Meanwhile, in terms of specifications, the LG G5 is rumored to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and might run on the latest Android operating system build, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, right out of the box.

Its CPU is going to be supported by 3 GB worth of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory capacity. There is no word yet, though, if the memory storage of the LG G5 will carry an expandable feature.

In addition to these rumors, Tech Radar reports that the G5 handset will most likely come with a screen size of somewhere around 5.4 inches and will sport a resolution of possibly Quad HD (or also known as 2K).

As always, fans are advised to take these circulating rumors with a pinch of salt until the manufacturer officially confirms the specifications.
