LG has announced that its four new mid-range smartphones, Magna, Spirit, Leon, and Joy, have begun to make their way into the market, starting with South Korea before making its way to Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. The South Korean consumer electronics giant had officially announced the mid-rangers in February, but did not unveil the smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 held earlier this month in Spain.

LG has carried over the UX features originally designed for its premium smartphones to its new mid-range lineup. It has used in-cell touch technology for the four smartphones to make them look slimmer while maximizing their display areas and minimizing the bezels, according to the company.

The LG Magna has a 5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by a quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone sports an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, 8GB of storage, and a 2,540mAh removable battery.

LG Spirit features a 4.7-inch HD display, an 8MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, a 1MP front-facing camera and a 2,100mAh battery, while all its other specs are similar to those of LG Magna

The LG Leon comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and is available in both 3G as well as 4G versions.

LG Joy, which could be the cheapest among the lot, sports a 4-inch WVGA display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone has 4GB of storage, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a VGA front-facing camera and a 1,900mAh battery.

The four smartphones are available in both LTE and 3G versions and run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS preinstalled. LG has not disclosed their prices, though the handsets are likely to be affordable, as they do not sport any high-end hardware or features.

"Millions of customers around the world today are seeking reasonably-priced devices that don't sacrifice on looks or features," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG. "Our newest mid-range smartphones are designed with both new and experienced users in mind all over the world who know a good deal when they see one," he added.
