'Life is Strange' news: Release date of the final episode finally revealed by developer Dontnod Entertainment
"Life is Strange," the critically acclaimed game developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Square Enix, is going to receive the final episode for the IP. The developer, on Monday, had announced that, "Polarized," will be the fifth and final episode for the episodic, time traveling game.
Last Monday, Dontnod Entertainment announced on Square Enix's website that the final episode for "Life is Strange" is going to be launched on Oct. 20. However, it seems like the episode, "Polarized," is still not 100 percent finished and game director, Luc Baghadoust, stressed out that though certain things might change in the process, they are hoping and working hard to hit the mentioned date.
Baghadoust then added on the blog post, "Many things can change in the lead up to release but the team are working really hard to try and hit this date. We know the wait may be a bit longer than some of you were hoping for but we want to ensure Episode 5 is the best it can be."
Of course, the developer would not have reached this kind of success for "Life is Strange" if it wasn't for the fans of the game. Baghadoust continued to say that the team behind the game is also excited about the release of the episode and thanked the fans who supported them and the game.
"We are super excited for you to play the finale and we hope you enjoy the ride! We couldn't have foreseen the great reaction 'Life is Strange' has had so far, the community is fantastic and we love seeing/reading your reactions to each episode," he wrote in the post.
On the game's Steam page, "Life is Strange" has received an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating from the users on that platform. In fact, approximately 97 percent of the 20,604 reviews posted are positive.
The game is available for previous gen consoles, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, for next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on the PC platform.
