Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors 2016: Brandon Ingram for Suns' Devin Booker?

The Los Angeles Lakers were included in almost all kinds of potential trades in the past few months. Now, a new possible deal sees them parting ways with prized rookie Brandon Ingram for Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.

Chances of this exchange materializing as of the moment are low. The Lakers are putting all their money on the talented youngsters they have and Ingram is among those. Booker, on the other hand, showed last season that he has star potential.

Aside from these, it is uncertain why the Lakers would want to have another shooting guard. Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams and Nick Young are in the squad already and adding one more guy at the position could lead to rotation troubles for head coach Luke Walton.

However, Booker would be a great acquisition for the Lakers when this deal takes place. The 19-year-old can shoot and score, which will make him an offensive improvement. If Walton finds a proper way to play him despite a crowded status at no. 2, he could be one of the top guys for the purple and gold franchise.

On the Suns' end, they are unlikely engaging in this because Booker is a future face of the franchise. In the 2015-16 season, he was among the rookies that stood out. Kobe Bryant and LeBron James were even impressed with what he showed during his debut year in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Maybe another reason that will hinder the Suns from saying yes to this is that Ingram is yet to prove himself in the NBA. The 2016 second-overall pick was a star in college but it is undetermined if that will remain the same in the big league. It is a gamble giving up someone who already showed what he can do, for a prodigy just entering the professional ranks.
