Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors 2016: D'Angelo Russell to be traded for Wizards' John Wall?
A few days ago, the Washington Wizards' John Wall admitted that he and backcourt partner Bradley Beal have on-court issues and this became a reason for the former to be in the rumor mill. Now, a team that might use this to its advantage to acquire the point guard is the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers are expected to give most of the point guard duties in the 2016-17 National Basketball Association (NBA) season to the young D'Angelo Russell.
Russell had a good rookie year last season, although it was an up and down ride that also got him into trouble at one point. But those are the things of the past as the 20-year-old is focused on becoming a better version of himself for Los Angeles' new campaign.
Despite all the rumors surrounding Russell, the Lakers seem keen on keeping him for the future. But if an opportunity to trade for Wall comes along their way, they might have a change of heart.
As of the moment, and perhaps in the few years to come, Wall is just a better point guard than Russell. The former top pick averaged career-bests 19.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 10.2 assists, with 1.9 steals per game last season. This could also be a reason why it would be difficult trading for the 26-year-old. Perhaps it will require the Lakers to give up one more young player or some picks to at least make the Wizards ponder.
But if the Lakers succeed, expect them to make waves instantly in the Western Conference and in the league. Wall would make them a better team overall because of what he can bring to the table. He is going to be the new star for the purple and gold, speed up the rebuilding process, and he could even lead them back to the playoffs.
