Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors 2016: Nick Young to OKC for future selection?

With the way veteran guard Nick Young is playing recently, it is unlikely for the Los Angeles Lakers to deal him away. But if they still have the desire to part ways with him, then the Oklahoma City Thunder might be an interested party.
Ahead of the 2016-17 National Basketball Association (NBA) season, the Lakers were believed to have a goal of disposing Young. Luckily for "Swaggy P," the organization decided to keep him and now he is showing that the right decision was made.
In six games, including a massive victory over the Golden State Warriors, Young is averaging 12.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, with one assist. These numbers may be normal but it is the intangibles that transformed him back to being a crucial piece for the Lakers. The 31-year-old is providing hustle plays and energy for the the purple and gold franchise and that is why it is having an excellent start to the new campaign.
As of the moment, Young may be an untouchable for the Lakers. However, as mentioned, the Thunder could be willing to have him if the aim during the off-season remains.
If a swap between the Lakers and Thunder happens, it was suggested that Young will be sent to Oklahoma City for a future second-round pick.
For die-hard Lakers fans, this is an easy rejection. Young's emergence so far this season probably increased his value, and right now, he is more than just a second-rounder.
Maybe if the Thunder include a young player or a big man, then the Lakers might contemplate, although there are no guarantees with head coach Luke Walton loving every piece in his squad.
The Lakers are already exceeding last season's performance. They opened this season with a win over the Houston Rockets and also triumphed against the Atlanta Hawks. They lost to the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers, but those were overshadowed with the 117-97 win versus the Dubs Friday.
