With several rumors surfacing about smartphones being developed by Microsoft, there has been a lot of confusion arising about them and they refuse to die down. Importantly, this is not the first time that new smartphones with the Lumia brand have surfaced and previously, the spotlight was on the Lumia 850.

Last year, Microsoft brought out the polycarbonate encased Lumia 950 and 950 XL. However, these smartphones, in spite of having very good chipsets, features and cameras, failed to result in increased sales or interest. This left many speculating as to whether Microsoft had enough reasons to carry on creating smartphones with the Lumia brand. However, soon afterwards, rumors about a Lumia 850 and a Lumia 650 began surfacing. The latest in these rumors focused on live photos of the Lumia 650 XL and SlashGear, reporting on it, states that it indicates that Microsoft might shelve the idea of a Lumia 850 and instead, bring out this version.

As for the Lumia 650 XL, it is thought the device is going to be a lower-end smartphone offering and it will have a plastic back panel with a metal frame. The rumor about the device also pointed to it having a 5.4-inch display and a Snapdragon 210 chipset.

Coming to the other Lumia device, the 650 DS, GSMArena states that this particular smartphone has a RM-1154 model number. Importantly, the Lumia 650 DS appears to be quite close to its release as it was spotted passing through FCC recently and it is thought to have dual SIM slots onboard. It is widely thought that this particular smartphone will be unveiled next week, and arrive along with a variant with a single SIM slot and the Lumia 650 XL. Importantly, the single SIM device, which has a RM-1152 model number, has already passed through FCC.

Finally, as the smartphones are going to be revealed pretty soon, it is expected that rumors about them will be surfacing at regular intervals and more details about their specs and features will be revealed.
