MacBook Pro 2016 release date: Laptop to hit shelves in second half of October

(Apple)The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to arrive in the second half of October.

MacBook aficionados are anticipating the release of the new MacBook Pro 2016, but Apple has yet to announce a release date for the laptop. However, according to new reports, the MacBook Pro 2016 could be looking at a market release by the second half of next month.

According to reports, should everything go according to plan, then the second part of October will likely see the MacBook Pro 2016 hitting the shelves. It is believed that Apple is only ironing out its operating system, macOS 10.12.1, to fit the latest MacBook Pro.

Other sources also point out that a beta testing of the macOS 10.12.1 will be carried out sometime next week, which would put the finishing touches scheduled by next week's end. However, it should be noted that there may be some bugs or issues that may arise during the testing phase, which could result in a delay of the software's release.

It is also believed that Apple may be focusing on bigger problems that the operating system has so that it can incorporate it to their new laptop models as soon as possible. Smaller patches will be released simultaneously with the macOS 10.12.2.

As previously reported, the MacBook Pro 2016 could see a release alongside the MacBook Air 2016, which has also been the subject of many speculations. This much was revealed, thanks to Director Tablet and Notebook PCs at IHS Markit Technology Rhoda Alexander.

As for the specifications, the new MacBook Pro is expected to come with Intel's SkyLake processor instead of the Kaby Lake, which is the company's latest. This may come as a disappointment to some Apple enthusiasts, but it should be noted that its release schedules became a hindrance in the incorporation of the Kaby Lake into the MacBook Pro 2016.

Beyond that, an OLED bar is believed to be situated above the keyboard of the laptop, which will give users quick access to their favorite applications and features. Following in the footsteps of Apple's latest iPhone 7, the MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected to do away with the headphone jack in order to allow for a thinner laptop. Seeing as the iPhone 7's lack of a headphone jack was met with lukewarm reviews, it remains to be seen how the public will take to this new feature — or lack thereof.
