"Madden" games are well-known for sporting top-notch visuals, and the latest installment of the franchise, "Madden NFL 17," aims to continue that trend.

Recently, the game's developers have touched on the improvements they are making to the different pieces of player equipment inside the game.

In a post over on the game's official website, developers showed off some of the new helmets that will be featured, including the Rawlings Tachyon, Riddell Speed Flex and the Schutt Vengeance. Developers also aren't leaving older models untouched, as they will also be making tweaks to these existing helmet designs.

Even the facemasks are being changed, as new models will also be included inside "Madden NFL 17."

In pursuit of providing further realism and additional opportunities for players to customize their characters, developers have also introduced some new accessories.

One-arm sleeves will be featured in the game, and the real-life players known to wear them will also be sporting them on the virtual gridiron.

The wrist and ankle tape accessories have also been updated, giving players more options to choose from as they create their very own character from scratch.

A football player's gridiron gear would of course not be complete without a quality pair of cleats, which is why EA is adding new items from different brands including Adidas, Nike and Under Armour.

New gloves have also been added to help round out the updated looks of the players inside "Madden NFL 17."

Beyond updating and adding numerous pieces of player equipment, the developers are also making tweaks to other facets of the game. Tweaks to how the defense operates and to how offenses can attack are coming and the game will even feature a new commentary team that will provide up-to-date content throughout the season.

Players can learn more about those coming changes firsthand when "Madden NFL 17" is released on Aug. 23.
