Manny Pacquiao next fight news 2016: Training for November bout started

Despite a very busy schedule as a senator in the Philippines, former eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao has already begun preparing for his comeback fight which will be held in November versus World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Jessie Vargas.

In a report by GMA News a few days back, it was stated that Pacquiao is doing some light training. Together with his team, the 37-year-old jogged, did shadow boxing and also worked on his core.

It turns out that Top Rank's Bob Arum and renowned boxing coach Freddie Roach were correct when they stated earlier this year that Pacquiao is unlikely hanging the gloves for good.

Before Pacquiao's bout versus rival Timothy Bradley Jr. last April, he told the world that following their third encounter he is leaving boxing to focus on politics.

However, just a couple of months after Pacquiao was elected, there were rumors that he is returning and he confirmed it this August.

"Yes, the fight is on. I have agreed to a Nov. 5 fight with reigning WBO Welterweight champion Jessie Vargas," Pacquiao said in a statement.

Pacquiao also expressed his love for the sport, "Boxing is my passion. I miss what I'd been doing inside the gym and atop the ring."

Because of Pacquiao's decison to continue his fighting career, some of his countrymen worried that this may hinder him from fulfilling his duties as a public servant. But the boxing icon promised that his training camp is going to be held in his motherland so he can continue his work in the senate.

As of the moment, Pacquiao is expected to condition his body first before going on a full camp at least a month or two ahead of his collision with Vargas. It has been four months since "Pacman" last stepped inside a boxing ring and competed.
