'Mass Effect 4' release date, latest news: developers ramping up development for 2016 release

Game developer Bioware is currently hard at work on the next installment of the 'Mass Effect' franchise. The as of yet untitled 'Mass Effect 4' is gradually receiving more and more attention as recent reports suggest that Bioware is hiring additional staff members to work on the game.

Chris Wynn, a senior development director on 'Mass Effect' tweeted a few weeks ago that they were looking to hire "Producers" to help develop the online component of the game. The exact position is for an Online Producer, though there were no other relevant details posted in the job listing.

From the looks of things, 'Mass Effect 4' will have an online multiplayer component to accompany its massive single player experience. Wynn assured fans that the multiplayer aspect of the game will not diminish the excellent single player experience that fans have come to expect from the franchise.

Bioware are also hiring new animators to work on the game's cinematics, according to this article from The Fuse Joplin. That's certainly welcome news and fans should expect the same kind of excellent cinematics and cut scenes from past 'Mass Effect' games.

No release date has been set for the game as of yet, but there have been unconfirmed reports that suggest an October 2016 release. Whether these reports are true or not, that's more than one a half years from now and it's more than possible that the game will be delayed given the arduous work required on a high profile project such as 'Mass Effect'.

Bioware has indicated that the game is using the latest technology in its move to next-generation consoles. Gamers can expect bigger worlds to explore and more responsive gameplay because of this change.

For now, fans can only wait for more information to be released with this year's E3 being the most likely source for an official teaser of some kind.
