Michael Schumacher latest news and updates: Privacy remains major concern for racing icon's family

(REUTERS/ALESSANDRO BIANCHI)According to Michael Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm, his family continues to ask for privacy as he recovers.

It seems like people across the globe must have more patience, with Michael Schumacher's family continually asking for privacy as he recovers from major injuries following a skiing accident in December of 2013.

Since the tragedy, details regarding Schumacher's health were scarce. The world waited for updates from his manager Sabine Kehm together with former colleagues who he was close with and have access to him. However, what they always give is limited information and it does not happen that often.

Because of what the Schumacher family is practicing, even racing legend and three-time Formula One (F1) champion Niki Lauda expressed earlier this year the desire to be informed, although the 67-year-old added that he understands what they are doing.

Well, Lauda and the entire world must need to wait a little longer for significant news about Schumacher. In a recent appearance, Kehm said the seven-time F1 champion's family still prioritizes privacy.

In a report by Fox Sports, it was mentioned that Kehm spoke during an event for a charity football game by F1 drivers. It was also stated that Schumacher was going to be honored during the exhibition match.

Kehm said she cannot comment about Schumacher and reiterated that the family wants privacy. She continued, "Of course, Michael will not disappear but at the moment the private situation is so difficult that unfortunately no insight can be given. There must be understanding for this."

This likely means that again, it will take weeks or even months before any update on Schumacher's health is released.

Perhaps the most recent update was Luca di Montezemolo's statement last May. The former Ferrari chairman told CNN two months ago that Schumacher was reacting.

Because there is lack of information, rumors continue to circulate, but so far, none of them are confirmed.
