Unidentified burglars have ransacked the office of Dr. Johannes Peil, one of retired German race car driver Michael Schumacher's doctors. Schumacher is currently recovering from severe injuries suffered during a skiing accident while on vacation in the Swiss Alps back in the year 2013.

Details regarding Schumacher's current condition are being kept under tight watch, and as such, may be especially valuable to news organizations. Just last year, one of Schumacher's rescue workers was arrested after he was found to have stolen sensitive medical information regarding Schumacher and attempted to sell the information to various news groups.

Though details regarding the burglary remain scarce, it has been theorised that medical information pertaining to Schumacher may have a target in the burglary. Peil's laptop was stolen during the crime, along with other unnamed items.

Though recovering somewhat, Schumacher is believed to still be in bad condition. He is reportedly still unable to speak and to move freely, according to unidentified insiders. He had previously been in a coma for several months. He is believed to be in a comprehensive rehabilitation process in a medical suite in his private mansion, which he moved into in September last year.

Formula One head honcho Bernie Ecclestone spoke about Schumacher and described his story as a great tragedy, as reported in an article at Auto Week.

"That is the tragedy of this story. He had a lot of crashes and took a lot of risks, but for it to happen like this? It was not even a skiing race," he said.

Ecclestone added that he has no knowledge pertaining to Schumacher's current condition. The F1 boss has known the legendary racer for well over twenty years and is surely hoping along with many others for the racer's eventual recovery.
