2015 is shaping up to be the year of Microsoft's supremacy in the operating systems market. The release date of Windows 10 has already been announced, though the launch of the highly anticipated OS will not be the only feather in the cap for Microsoft. There are rumors that Windows 10 will power the upcoming Surface Pro 4, making it the most powerful tablet in the market.

Surface Pro, which was first introduced in 2013, is the first 2-in-1 tablet/laptop device in the market. The first two versions, Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2, received mixed to average reviews, though both failed to match the iPad. However, the latest Surface Pro 3 met with more success, with the "laplet" even being included in Time's list of best new inventions of 2014.

The Surface Pro 3, with its Intel CPU and Windows 8 OS, is already considered to be a full-fledged computer, and fans are expecting a lot more from the upcoming Surface Pro 4. The specifications of the upcoming "laplet" have already been leaked online and the device does seem to pack quite a punch.

Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 reportedly features a 12-inch screen display with 2K pixel resolution, Intel Skylake processor, stylus, and USB Type-C port. However, the most exciting feature about the Surface Pro 4 is that the device will run on the upcoming Windows 10.

Since Windows 10 will be released on July 29, the Surface Pro 4 is expected to become available soon after the launch of the new operating system. And with Surface Pro 3 already being sold at heavily discounted prices, the Surface Pro 4 is expected to hit the stores by the end of this year.
