(Microsoft)Inset is the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. There are speculations that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be powered with the upcoming Kaby Lake chipset from Intel.

Tech vendor Microsoft has been keeping things undisclosed with regard to its upcoming devices, most especially with its rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 5. It has been previously reported that the tablet's supposed release date was pushed aback to 2017 for reasons that chipset maker Intel will be releasing its Kaby Lake processor sometime during that year, and at the same time, Microsoft itself will be updating its current operating system which is Windows 10, to Redstone 2. Having said this, the yet-to-be-announced tablet from Microsoft will be something to look forward to by fans and would-be users.

Furthermore, fans are wondering what the new tablet will offer this time around after the commercial success of its predecessor. There are speculations that the tablet might include a stylus that comes with its very own charging dock as an auxiliary feature. The device might also be imbued with enough graphics processing unit (GPU) to be considered as a gaming tablet. It's not yet clear though whether Microsoft will render Advanced Micro Device's (AMD) GPUs or NVIDIA's Pascal-architectured graphics cards.

Aside from the aforementioned Kaby Lake chipset that will definitely be lodged in the yet-to-be-unveiled tablet and a pre-installed upgraded Windows 10 OS, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be sporting a USB 3.1 Type-C port that doubles the speed of data transfer between devices. Moreover, there are also rumors that the device might have a 4K display protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass, and this will most likely be the recently released Gorilla Glass 5 which is said to be the most durable glass cover Corning has devised to date, something which withstands drops from heights as high as 1.6 meters.

While Microsoft still waits for the release of Intel's new processor, fans, on the other hand, will have to do the same.
