Microsoft HoloLens news: Gaming not the focus of device's first version

The tech giant company, Microsoft, has finally revealed their plans for the first version of the highly anticipated wearable gadget, the augmented reality, HoloLens. However, it might not be what many fans are expecting.
In an interview with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, he announced that for the first version of the AR headset, the company will not be focusing on gaming. Instead, it will turn its focus to the developers and enterprises.
"For sure in the first version, it's going to be more about developers and enterprise scenarios," Nadella told Zdnet during the interview.
As for the reason why the company bought "Minecraft" and why they are associating it with the Microsoft HoloLens, according to GameSpot, it has great potential for the AR headset.
Nadella pointed out several reasons why and said that "Minecraft" is "the number one PC app; it's the number one console app; it's the number one paid mobile app on iOS and Android. I wanted a hit game even for the new medium of mixed reality," he told Zdnet.
The news that the company is focusing on different matters than gaming, actually comes as no surprise. In our report a few weeks ago, news broke that Microsoft and NASA are working on a collaborative project. The tech giant is planning to send their headset to the International Space Station to aid the astronauts stationed there in completing their tasks and missions.
Aside from space, it has also been reported that Microsoft released a video showing how the impressive headset can be used in the field of medicine.
For fans who would like to use this wearable gadget to play computer games, Nadella assured that gaming will always be included in the HoloLens' development, probably not now, but definitely in the future.
He told Zdnet, "Gaming will always be a scenario and there will be other entertainment broadly. But, with the V.1 of HoloLens, I want us to push a lot more of the enterprise usage."
