The tenth installment of the popular fighting game, "Mortal Kombat", received a massive new patch late last week. The patch, which included fixes for general gameplay and new character-specific updates, has been released on May 14, 2015, initially only for Playstation 4 players.

"Mortal Kombat X", the highest grossing videogame for the month of April, has received generally favorable reviews of 85 percent from Gamerankings and 84/100 from Metacritic, since its release almost a month ago. However, several gameplay glitches plagued "Mortal Kombat X", which have now been resolved by the recently released patch. Fixes have been provided for various glitches, including offline replays reporting "playback does not agree", a crash occurring when skipping to the fight in the Klassic Tower, and addition of unlock counter for Krypt.

Character-specific bugs have also been tweaked with an aim to appease the videogame community's criticism.

The game's attack moves have also been improved, including Goro's brutal kick now hitting overhead, Kitana gaining a new attack on away 3, and Mileena now performing her x-ray airborne.

Jason Voorhees, the machete wielding horror icon introduced as a DLC earlier in May, also received updates. The character's Temple Punch and Shoulder Push no longer auto-correct after it starts moving.

However, among the most prevalent attributes to be noticed by users is Reptile and his unrecognizable reptilian humanoid new look. While the Klassic Reptile Skins, which is included in the patch do not bring back the Reptile in his original human-like form, the update at least makes the character familiar.

The third of the patches also showcases some screens including Tanya, the femme fatale, on the Finishers page. This might indicate that the character will be the next DLC coming to "Mortal Kombat X".

According to NetherRealm Studios, the developers of "Mortal Kombat", the updates for Xbox One and PC updates will be available soon, but did not give out any specific date for the release. Speculations are that the updates will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 later this year.
